Saturday, July 7th, 2007 - Mickley's Buxture

Today was Uncle Tom's 83rd birthday, the Festival 500 choral concert at Ferryland Church, yoga at The Pagoda, and Silas' last day here before heading off on retreat with Ed Johnson. It was also another day of torrential rain...

Silas was struck down by another virus, hopefully a short-lived and non-contagious one. We all sweated bullets with the heat cranked while he shivered, fully clothed, under a blanket on the couch. Poor Dad!

While rainy days (and Mondays) can get a person down, they can also be a stimulant for imaginative play. There is a mirrored wardrobe in one of the upstairs bedrooms here, and after a little pushing by Mom and Dad, Maggie claimed it as the portal to Narnia. Of course, her Narnia is filled with girls in pretty dresses named Sara and Rebecca, and I expect there to be a fancy ball there any day now where the Maggie of Narnia (who is, of course, a princess) will be swept off her feet by a handsome prince.
