Sunday, July 15th, 2007 - You have your hands full

Sunday always dawns with a certain sense of excitement and anticipation - the food, the nap, even the trip to Mass. Add to it the perfect weather we had today and it is hard not to live the day as a prayer. For such an important day, it's good to get cleaned up and looking pretty. The boys enjoyed their splash in the tub, and were happy to head to their new room at Grandma's to get dressed.

After Sunday dinner, Grandma brought Nan some rhubarb crisp for dessert. Nan, as usual, exclaimed, "For heaven's sake, Ellie, I can't eat that!". "Hmmm, " Maggie mused. "Nan can't eat anything!"

The day ended with a bonfire on the beach to close out Calvert Days. There was a fire, and some guitars, and all the good old Irish and Newfoundland songs, sung in a huddle at the side of the road (as it was a bit too hot to get close to the fire!). This Calvert is just a really good place to belong.
